Desmond Gemert


Desmond Arthur Gemert (Amsterdam, September 29, 1964) is a Dutch former professional footballer.

Gemert joined defender in 1982 with coach Tonny Bruins Slot from bankrupt FC Amsterdam to AFC Ajax. There was Gemert right in the A youth. In his first season, he debuted in a training match against AS Roma in the first team, but it would take until March 19, 1985 to play in an official match in the main power. However, his debut in the cup against PSV lost 2-0. A year later, he played for the first time in the base of Ajax's first team against FC Utrecht. On that day, Aron Winter and Erik Regtop also debuted as invaders at the Amsterdam club. However, Gemert did not save it at Ajax. He played only seven matches for the club in two seasons.
