Elgoog

elgooG (Google Backstage Spelled) is the search engine's literal mirror site, showing everything backwards, and the search terms must be written backwards to get the desired search results. Originally, the website was created by All Too Flat as a joke, but found a practical application in China after blocking Google by the Chinese government's firewall. Another characteristic aspect is because the search terms are typed backwards and the search results are shown backwards, it is harder for intermediate parties to track what users are looking for.

The original ElGooG page (from All Too Flat) is currently unreachable with a report that it is undergoing a server upgrade. Other mirror sites are just accessible.

The domain name elgoog.com has been registered by Google Inc. since 2000 but does not contain content.
