Faunus (god)

Faunus

Faunus is an ancient natural god in Roman mythology, which later becomes Pan. Faunus is the guardian of the cattle and the pasture, and therefore fertility.

From the early Roman times, on December 5th, in the vicinity of Mandela (middle Italy), a popular party was delivered, the Faunalia. Faunus is equated with Silvus here.

The Faunas will take its place later.

Fauna was a goddess, often called the Faunus woman. The later understanding of fauna, the whole of all animals, is derived from it. Also see
