Captain Bottego was an Italian cargo ship.
Built in 1933, it was a 2316-tonne gross tonnage motorboat owned by the Banana Monopoly Company.
At the outbreak of World War II, he was in Massaua, Eritrea (Eastern Africa), as well as most of the RAMB fleet, having to load bananas.
On February 7, 1941, the Royal Navy was required and used as a shipping ship.
In the spring of 1941, it was evident that Massaua would soon be occupied by British troops, was sent to Nocra, in the Dahalac Islands. On 6 April 1941 he fled to Gubbet to avoid the capture. The wreck was recovered by the British. Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto
