Desiree Correa


Desiree Correa (Aruba, October 20, 1953) is an Aruban writer.

Desiree Correa was born in Aruba, where she works as a Spanish teacher. She started writing plays, but they were never raised or published.

Her first edition wrote Correa in Spanish: Elefina Elefanta (1980). But she also wanted to write a story in Dutch and asked Miep Diekmann, renowned children's book writer and scout for Dutch-Antillian youth book writers for Leopold publishing house, for help. Thus, Mosa's Island (1984) came about, a story about the relationship between a mother and her daughter in Antilles society. Also see
