Field strength

Field strength is the strength of a field. This field may be, for example, a magnetic field or electric field. Field strength indicates how strong the field is at a particular location in the field. The gravity also has a field strength; the gravity strength (or gravity field strength). This has a unit N / kg. The field strength in Brussels is approximately 9.81 N / kg.

Field strength is a vector and thus always has a direction next to a size. Depending on the environment, the field strength is expressed in 2 or 3 components, oriented in orthogonal directions. When we speak of the field strength at a certain point, we mean the vector sum of the individual components.
