Het First Division Monument
The First Division Monument is located in President's Park, southwest of the White House, in the American Capital of Washington, DC. The monument was established in honor of all who fell as they served in the United States Army's 1st Infantry Division. < / p>
The monument in honor of the fallen of the 1st Infantry Division in the First World War was unveiled on 4 October 1924. After the Second World War, the monument was expanded for the fallen in this war, and revealed again on August 24, 1957. The First Division Monument was then expanded two more times: for the fall of the Vietnam War (disclosure 20 August 1977) and for the fallen soldiers of Operation Desert Storm (disclosure 29 May 1995).
