Greaves Lombardini is a motorcycle brand from India.
The company name was: Greaves Cotton Co. Ltd., Bombay.
The story of this Indian diesel engine is somewhat complicated. The diesel engine is actually an aggregate of Italian Lombardini, which is licensed in India. Due to this aggregate in the frame of an Indian Royal Enfield Bullet, a reliable, cheap but slow motorcycle was obtained. This installation had to be done by a dealer or the owner at first. Due to the fact that the tractor manufacturer Sooraj decided to make Bullet-Greaves Lombardini ready-made motorcycles in 1983, the Sooraj engine was created.
