Guaporé (rivier)


The Guaporé of Rio Guaporé is a river in western Brazil. The river originates in the Mato Grosso about 150 kilometers northeast of Pontes e Lucerda. The river then runs along the border with Bolivia to the Mamore River. The Bolivian name of the river is Río Iténez.

The river has a total length of 1530 kilometers. The source is 631 meters above sea level and the mouth is 130 meters above sea level. About 120 kilometers after Pontes e Lucerda, at Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade, the Rio Algre joins the Guaporé. The Guaporé arrives at Sorpresa in the Mamore.
