Inaros

Inaros - † 455 BC was a prince of the native royal house of Egypt in Persian Persian times.

Inaros was the son of Psamtik III, the last pharaoh of Egypt XXVIe dynasty. In 460 BC. he resurrected with the support of the Athenian Greeks and another prince of royal bloody Amyrteus (the grandfather of later Pharaoh Amyrteus, who would set up the XXVIIIe). The uprising stood at 455, but in that year the Greek expedition army was destroyed by the Persians and Egypt became a Persian satrapie. Inaros was detained and sentenced to Persia after a detention on Prosopis Island.

Inaros is mostly known as the main character of the Pedubastis Cycle.
