Luciano van den Berg


Luciano Thomas van den Berg (Amsterdam, June 22, 1984 - Almere, September 18, 2005) was a Dutch footballer.

As a professional football player of the Mountain at Storm Birds Telstar. He debuted in the 2004/2005 season competition in the match against VVV-Venlo and scored immediately. On Saturday, September 17th 2005, he lost control of the A6 on the A6 and drove onto a stationary car. He was killed instantly. One day before, Van den Berg played against FC Zwolle, which was his first regular competition game.

On Friday after the accident, the competition De Graafschap - Stormvogel Telstar was on the program. On this day, however, the funeral took place of Van den Berg. At that funeral also his good friend and international Nigel de Jong spoke. The match against De Graafschap was played the following Monday. Before the match, a minute's silence was followed, followed by an impressive tribute of the Spinnekop, the hard core of De Graafschap.
