Puerto Rico Education Department

The Puerto Rico Education Department (in Spanish: Departamento de Educación or DE) is the Puerto Rican governmental body responsible for sharing public and secondary public education.

The DE administration covers 610,000 students, 42,000 teachers and 1,538 schools.

On 1 May 2006, the Puerto Rican government faced a significant monetary deficit, which forced it to close the DE and other 42 government agencies as well as all public school institutions. Links externalize the wikitesto
