Station Haifa HaShmona

Haifa HaShmona Station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת חיפה מרכז השמונה, Taḥanat HaRakevet Ḥeifa Merkaz HaShmona), as a whole Haifa Center HaShmona, is a train station in the Israeli city of Haifa.

The station is located in Kikar Plumer square and at the Derekh HaAtzma'ut in the center of Haifa. It is located on the North-South railway line between Nahariya and Beersjeva.

The station was built in 1937 for the Beirut - Cairo route. In 2003-2004 the station was refurbished and renovated.

The station consists of two side platforms with two parallel tracks. Also, a bridge has been built over the tracks, which ends on the second floor of the mall.

On July 16, 2006, a depot in Haifa was hit by a rocket during the conflict between Lebanon and Israel. There were eight employees living around. The train traffic was halted by this.

In the future, this will be a transition point on the scheduled Metronit express bus.
