Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Hamilton)

Tower

The Holy Trinity Cathedral (English: Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, often referred to as Bermuda Cathedral) is an Anglican cathedral on Church Street in the Bermuda capital of Hamilton.

The cathedral is mainly built with Bermuda limestone, with the exception of various decorative details from Caensteen, located in the same French town.

Composer S. Drummond Wolff was organist in the cathedral between 1959 and 1962. History

The original building was designed in the Old English style by the British James Cranston in 1844, and its construction was completed in 1869. However, in 1884 this church was destroyed by fire. The British architect William Hay, who had already been consulted in the construction of the first building between 1848 and 1849 and again in 1862, was appointed in 1885 to design the current construction in neo-Gothic style. His right hand, George Henderson, was responsible for the eastern part of the cathedral. The new building was eventually erected between 1886 and 1905. 32 ° 17 '40 "NB, 64 ° 46' 60" WL
