Donald James MacHale, (Greenwich, Connecticut, May 11, 1956) better known as D.J. MacHale, is an American writer, filmmaker, and executive producer.

He has worked on TV series as Are you Afraid of the Dark ?, Flight 29 Down and Seasonal Differences. D. J. MacHale is also the author of the book series Pendragon. biography

During his studies at Greenwich High School, he had many part-time jobs including dishwashing at a steakhouse. He was also a member of two sports teams (football and track). After graduating, MacHale went to New York University and obtained a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in film production.
