Francisco de la Cuesta

Francisco de la Cuesta

Francisco de la Cuesta (Colmenar de Toledo, 1658 - 30 May 1724) was a Roman Catholic minister. De la Cuesta was archbishop of the Archbishop of Manila and Bishop of Diocese Michoacán and was also the interim governor of the Philippines for three years.

The La Cuenta was nominated as Archbishop of Manilla on April 28, 1704. Only eight years later, on August 12, 1712, he was installed as the new archbishop. After the assassination of Governor-General Fernando Manuel de Bustillo Bustamante and Rueda, De la Cuenta, as usual, became the interim governor-awaiting the nomination of a successor by the Spanish king.

On September 23, 1723, De La Cuenta was appointed as bishop of Michoacán. Less than a year later he died.
