Operation Hardtack 3 and 4 was the codename for a British military operation on the French coast near Quinéville, located on the northeastern side of the Cotentin peninsula. History

With a view to a Allied landing in Normandy, small attacks (raids) were conducted at various places along the Normandy coast to gather information. On December 25, 1943, during operation Hardtack 3 and 4, a British command unit had to gather information about the strength of the German garrison and the degree of resistance they would offer.
