Petrus Hubertus (Pie) Coenen (Maastricht, 18 August 1894 - 16 October 1952) was a Dutch painter and art teacher. Lifecycle

Coenen studied at the Stadsteekeninstituut Maastricht from 1923 to 1925 where he was taught by the Maastricht artist Henri Jonas. From 1927 to 1937 he was a member of the Limburg Art Circle. Pie Coenen mainly painted landscapes, village views, and still lifes. He used alternately oil paint and watercolor. He particularly liked the watercolor technique in realizing landscapes. His work was regularly exhibited. Very well known is the group exhibition with 7 youngsters from Limburg in the Stedelijk Museum Maastricht in 1929. In addition to Pie Coenen's work, this exhibition also exhibited works by Jan Hul, Mathieu Hul, Paul Kromjong, Leveve, Jef Scheffers and Henri Schoonbrood. p>

In 1939 Pie Coenen took part in the exhibition 'Our art of today' at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.

Pie Coenen is buried at the cemetery at the Tongerseweg in Maastricht.
