Usability Limit

The state of a construction, as used in normal use, is called Utility Limit State (BGT). This boundary state is also called Utility Limit (GGT). In construction calculations, this usefulness limit is checked, among other things.

It is then checked that there is no cracking, annoying bending or vibrations during use of the structure. These can adversely affect the use of the construction, or shorten the life span.

A good example of a construction that no longer meets the usability requirements is the tower of Pisa. Due to its major deformations, normal use is severely limited, and the life span is also severely shortened.
