William Lashner (Philadelphia, January 1, 1956) is an American novelist of mostly legal thrillers who previously worked as a lawyer.
Lashner was sent to the New York University School of Law and followed the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. He worked as a lawyer at the United States Department of Justice. Lashner is one of the founders of The Liars Club, a network of professional publicists and other aspects of entertainment, consisting of Gregory Frost, Leslie Esdaile Banks, Jon McGoran, Duane Swierczynski, Ed Pettit, Laura Schrock, Jonathan Maberry and Kelly Simmons.
