The single was one of Modugno's first hits, both of which are related to Salento folklore.
The first song is known, it speaks of the tragic story of a horse becoming blind and is driven to die under a hot sun after the dark dark of the mine. The song was often republished by Modugno, and is also present in the All Modugno anthology with the Italian title The blind horse of the mine.
The second song is much less well-known than the first, and it speaks of the classic wind of the land's syrup, but it was never reprinted nor reinstated by Modugno.
