Steven Alker


Steven Alker (Hamilton, July 28, 1971) is a professional golfer from New Zealand.

Alker became professional in 1995 and won 9 tournaments. In 1995 he started on the Australasian PGA Tour. In Europe, he played on the Challenge Tour in 1999, 2007 and 2008 and on the European Tour in 1998, 1999, 2007 and 2008.

In 2000 he played on the Canadian Tour and won the Order of Merit. In 2002 he played the Nationwide Tour and promoted from there to the American PGA Tour. He lost his player card and from 2004-2006 he again played on the Nationwide Tour.

His last national victory was the PGA Championship in New Zealand, where he won the last two rounds in 67 strokes and won two wins. He received two years of play on the Australasian Tour and the Nationwide Tour.

In 2014, he won the Cleveland Open on the Web.com Tour after defeating Dawie Van der Walt with a birdie in a 11-hole playoff, a record for the Web.com Tour. >
