Art and Knowledge


Arts and Knowledge was an association that brought together students and former students of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of the Belgian city of Ghent, both the visual artists and the architects.

It was a friends association that organized exhibitions and organized further contests, lectures, priest parties and study trips. In 1898 they held their first exhibition. In 1903 the first issue of their magazine Art and Knowledge appeared.

Founder and many years chairman was architect Oscar Van de Voorde. Members were Oscar Van de Voorde, French Deboever, Raphael De Buck, Julius De Praetere and Albert Van Huffel.
