Big Mac
The Big Mac is a hamburger of the fast food chain McDonald's, designed in 1967 by US franchisee Jim Delligatti (1918-2016). The hamburger consists of two slices of beef mince with lettuce, cheese, pickle, onion and Big Macsaus between a three-piece sesame root.
The sandwich became a worldwide success and has since become the flagship of the company. The British magazine The Economist publishes the so-called Big Mac Index annually. The price of a Big Mac is used as a benchmark to compare the cost of living in the world.
