Emile Fryns


Emile Fryns (Nieuwpoort, 1914 - Gent, 1996) was a Belgian painter.

Lifecycle

Emile Fryns was the son of hoteliers who had the "Hotel Fryns" in Nieuwpoort. He was a student of Emile Ollevier at the modest Teaching School in Nieuwpoort and subsequently at the art institute Ter Kameren in Brussels. In his main occupation, he was a teacher of plastic education at the RMS in Nieuwpoort, the Royal Atheneum 1 Center Oostende and at the Rijksnormaalschool in Gent. As a creative artist, he was a painter with a love for marines and landscapes. He provided 10 illustrations in the line-cut of the poet "Van Zee en Visschers" of the poet Kamiel Top. The bundle appeared in a 125-copy edition.
