Medal for the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801

The Copenhagen Medal of Copenhagen in 1801 was a Danish award. The medal was destined for the Danish soldiers involved in the naval battle in Copenhagen in 1801. Danish veterans could wear the medal on a ribbon in the colors of the Danish flag.

The Danes call the battle the "Battle of Reason".

The disappointment of Horatio Nelson, as a deputy admiral involved in the naval battle won by the British, did not allow the United Kingdom to beat a medal. Nelson considered the battle as his "worst-fought victory". Lorentz Fjelderup Lassen (1756-1837) carries the medal; Portrait of 1802 by Jens Juel Externe link
