Mesclun on bread
Mesclun is a French-style salad. The mixture consists of several young harvested leafy vegetables, including various types of slices, types of spices, herbs, cabbage, petals (for example, of the dandelion), and sometimes even flowers. Mesclun without herbs, thus a less spicy taste, is called "babyleaf". The cultivation of mesclun sows the plants closer than usual. This results in a raised growth mode with narrower leaves, which can easily be cut with the knife or the scissors.
