Ramón Flores


Ramón Flores (August 22, Mazatlán) is a Mexican trumpeter. He started at the Bellas Artes Institute at the age of 10. His musical career began at the age of 12. By that time, he started as a trumpet player in the Banda Municipal de Mazatlan, a concert band led by Jose Medina Peña. In the years following, he also plays in some "Big Bands" focusing more on Jazz. He grows up as a musician and when he goes to Mexico City at the age of 19, he plays there with the most famous orchestras and jazz bands at the time.

Since 1967, Flores began to collaborate with other Mexican artists like José José and Juan Gabriel. In a short while he becomes one of the most important studio musicians. Flores also begins to write music for musicals and commercials. In 1973 he received a prize.

In 1985, Flores moved to Los Angeles in the United States. He plays here with local Big Bands and also comes in touch with the music style Latin Jazz. Only in 1993 Flores took up his first solo album. He has also been on world tour several times with various artists / orchestras, including Cock Robin (1990), Brian Setzer (1994), Don Henley (2000) and Yanni (2003-2005). Discography
