Strait Muli (Indonesian: Selat Muli), in Dutch colonial time Strait Marianne (named after Marianne of the Netherlands), is a strait in Indonesia in the province of Papua. The strait separates the island of Yos Sudarso, the former Frederik Hendrike Island, to the west, from the coast of New Guinea to the east. South of Strait Muli lies the island of Komoran and the Strait of Buaya. The strait was discovered in 1826 by Lieutenant-by-Sea Dirk Hendrik Kolff; The existence was reaffirmed by members of the expedition to New Guinea in 1828.
