Marinus Viets

Marinus Viets (Wageningen, September 6, 1853 - Zuidhorn, March 23, 1905) was a Dutch architect, who worked mainly in the province of Groningen. Two homes designed by him in eclectic style in Zuidhorn are designated as a national monument. Viets, a son of a smith, was the first treasurer of the Groningen's subsidiary of the Society for Promotion of Architecture in 1884. In February 1905 he was appointed Secretary of the Westerkwartier Water Board. A month later, he died at the age of 51 in Zuidhorn. Working (selection) Also see
