Out of love for the flag

From the love of the flag (French: Face au drapeau) is a novel by French writer Jules Verne. The book was first released in 1896.

The story describes the fate of Thomas Roch, a French chemist who invented an explosive of incredible power. Like Verne's previous book, The 500 million of the Begum, the story mainly focuses on how France and, in wider sense, threaten the world by a super weapon, eventually overcome by French patriotism.
