Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an electronic device commonly used for photodepilation and photo rejuvenation treatments. This type of technology has started its development since the late 1990s and is the evolution of laser, which has long been used for this purpose.

The advantage of this kind of technology compared to laser is that it allows you to handle larger areas, with greater security, versatility and execution speed. The specific technical characteristics change according to the model and the manufacturer but, basically, the pulsed light consists of an energy accumulator and a special xenon lamp, and a special optic, capable of generating a very intense beam of light illuminates the area to be treated. Light delivery is not continuous, but is carried out with very little impulse. A specific optical filter, possibly interchangeable, prevents any possible damage to the skin by UV rays.
