St. Jan Berchmans College is a Catholic school in Malle. It was founded by the Viator patrons, who fled to Belgium, like the trappists of the Westmalle abbey during the French Revolution. Originally, the patrons wanted to emigrate to Canada, but they received pieces of land in Westmalle. Later the current St. Jan Berchmans College was built in their country. Originally, it was an intern for boys. The female counterpart was the Maris Stella Institute, just across the border (De Schaaf) with Oostmalle. Later the internaat was abolished and the school mixed. The current director is Mr. Van Huffelen.
The school offers all ASO directions except sports.
In the school year 2011-2012, the school celebrated its 100th anniversary.
