David G. Hartwell

David G. Hartwell (Salem, July 10, 1941 - Pleasantville, January 20, 2016) was an American editor of science fiction, fantasy and horror. He has published numerous anthologies. Together with his wife, Kathryn Cramer, he was editor of The New York Review of Science Fiction. He was also editor-in-chief since 1995 at Tor / Forge Books.

Each year, he published two influential anthologies: Year's Best SF and Year's Best Fantasy. He was often nominated for the Hugo Award in the category of Professional Professional, but never won the prize. Usually he was defeated by Gardner Dozois. Hartwell won the World Fantasy Award in 1988 for his anthem The Dark Descent.

Hartwell died at the age of 74 after he fell on his head. Bibliography
