It was born on April 4, 1952 with the aim of grouping all the Italian companies operating in the electricity production and distribution sector and inherited from IRI's participation in SIP, EMS, Steelworks in Terni and Trentina. In the 1960s he built the Electronuclear Center of Garigliano through the National Electronuclear Society.
