E.J. (Jaap) Gelok (Middelburg, July 15, 1951) is a Dutch politician of the PvdA.
He started his career in education at Hoedekenskerke in 1972, but later moved into politics. In 1994 he became an elder of the former municipality of Valkenisse. When that municipality entered Vaere on January 1, 1997, he became an elder. In 1999, his appointment as Mayor of the South Holland municipality of Strijen, but three years later he returned to Zeeland as mayor of Borsele. Early in 2017, it became known that he wants to retire in May of that year. Gerben Dijksterhuis has been appointed as his successor on June 15.
