Miguel Lino de Ezpeleta

Miguel Lino de Ezpeleta (Manilla, 1701 - 1771) was a Roman Catholic spiritual of Spanish origin. Lino de Ezpeleta was nominated as bishop of Cebu on July 18, 1757. After the death of Governor Pedro Manuel de Arandía Santisteban, he became vacant as the position of the Archbishop of Manilla was the new interim governor of the colony. On arrival of the new Archbishop of Manilla in July 1759, they claimed the position of governor. However, Lino de Ezpeleta went on to confront the archbishop and remained in the governor's seat until July 1761 when a royal decree stipulated that the archbishop had to become the new interim governor. .

After his death in 1771, the bishop of Cebu was succeeded by Mateo Joaquin Rubio de Arevalo, who was installed only five years after Lino de Expeleta's death.
