Palace Auersperg

The Auersperg Palace

The Auersperg Palace (German: Palais Auersperg) is a baroque palace in the Josefstadt district near the center of Vienna.

The palace was built in the years 1706-1710 by the design of architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. On October 8, 1777, Johann Adam von Auersperg acquired the palace which has since been the name of his nobility.

During the Second World War, the palace served as a venue for the resistance group O5.

Nowadays waltz concerts and winter bals are taking place in summer.
