Potvliet

The Potvliet, also known as Dirtbeek, is a tributary of the Great Sky. The course of the widened brook still forms the boundary between the districts of Antwerp and Borgerhout. Before the merger in 1983 these municipalities and until 1836 Borgerhout was still part of Deurne.

The vliet was formed by a confluence at the Louisapoort of the Zurenborgsebeek (which together with her upstream the Boomgaardbeek formed the border between Antwerp and Berchem) and the Zilverbeek (which formed the border between Berchem and Borgerhout). She walked with a diver under the Herentalsevaart. The Zilverbeek formed the border crossing between Berchem and Mortsel at the Gevaert factory.
