Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy


The Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy of TCHRD (Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy of TCHRD) was founded in 1996 and was the first Tibetan non-governmental organization to understand the purpose of disseminating information on the human rights situation in Tibet and to promote the principles of democracy in the Tibetan community. The TCHRD is independent of the Tibetan parliament in exile and resides in Dharamsala, India. The organization is funded by individual donations and international funds.

The TCHRD regularly and systematically investigates human rights violations in China-led Tibetan Autonomous Region and publishes on Tibet's various Tibetan problems. She assists the UN Commission on Human Rights and participates in international conferences to inform about the human rights situation in Tibet.
