Wolmerum was a settlement located near the Dellewal neighborhood on the wadden island of Terschelling, province of Friesland (Netherlands). The location is on the Plaat, part of the port area of West Terschelling, which is protected by dams. The Plate is part of the Wadden Sea and is under the influence of ebb and flood.

Originally Wolmerum was in the west of the Terschellinger polder. In 1557 there were eleven houses. The hamlet and polder were protected by ebb and flood by a wierdijk, whose quality was not good.

The West Terschelling port area had seriously suffered from coastal deprivation between 1600 and 1800, due to the fact that the harbor pit was still moving in the northern direction. Also the wierdijk that ran away from the large and partly lost Hanskedúne in the southeastern direction of the Wadden Sea, suffered great damage. Eventually it was decided to build a solid dike, something easterner than the old wierdijk. This dike still has the name Nieuwe Dijk, and is part of Terschelling's current wadden dive. After the construction of the Nieuwe Dijk and the disappearance of the old wierdijk, Wolmerum came to bed and disappeared gradually in the Wadden Sea. The hamlet was abandoned in the 18th century.
