Carpet II

Mattan II (also called Matan or Mittin) was King of Tire of 730-729 BC. He was the successor to Hiram II and is called with him (and with Ethbaäl II) in the Assyrian Annals of Tiglatpileser III as one of the kings who estimated his estimation, which shows that Tire was at the time a vassal statue of the Assyrians. The estimated estimate consisted of 150 talents of gold and was paid to Tiglatpileser's boss Rabšaq. This was a relatively high amount, which shows that Tyrus under Mattan was very prosperous.

Mattan was succeeded by Eloulaios.
