French Spekreijse


F.J. (French) Spekreijse (11 November 1953) is a Dutch politician.

His father was an entrepreneur and he himself has been for a long time too. In 1986, he started a company that engaged in school guidance and, more specifically, the development of methods and resources for students with learning and behavioral problems and the training of teachers of such students. From this commercial company with branches in the Netherlands, Belgium and the Netherlands Antilles, he was the owner and general director until 1999.

In addition, Spekreijse was from 1986 to 1998 in the municipality council of the former Achterhoek municipality, Wisch, whose last four years as a group chairman of the local party Gemeentebelangen Wisch. In 1998 he became an elder-in-law, and in 2001 he was appointed mayor of the North Holland municipality of Wieringermeer. Since December 2005 he is back in Gelderland, where he became the mayor of Lochem. Spekreijse is a member of the VVD. In February 2013, he is announced to quit as mayor.

Spekreijse has four daughters.
