Gaspatroon

190g insertion pattern Primus burner with a cartridge of 230 g content

A gas cartridge is a small and thin-walled gas bottle.

A small amount of liquefied flammable gas is kept under pressure in a gas cartridge. This gas is usually a mixture of butane and propane. If you want to work with gas patterns at low temperatures (below 5 ° C), use isobutane as a filling. The gas pattern material is usually stainless steel, aluminum or carbon steel.

Gas cartridges are used for cooking and lighting purposes, especially by campers and boats. They also serve as a reservoir for example a paint burner, a solder burner and the like.

Gas patterns do not have a valve. Instead, they can be connected to the device by means of a hollow needle. There are also screw and bayonet closures, with a valve being pressed. The last closures have the advantage that the gas cartridge can be disconnected from the device.

Known gas tank suppliers include Campingaz, Coleman, Primus, and Markill.
