Paul Kirchner (Germany, January 29, 1952) is an American illustrator and (comic) author.

Kirchner studied at an art academy in New York. After the early break of his studies, he recorded comic strips. He worked in collaboration with Dutch writer Janwillem van de Wetering. Slowly, he shifted his illustrations, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and designing logos and toys. In 1994, he shifted his focus again to writing nonfiction and in 1996 again to the advertising industry. Since 2002 he is once again a freelance artist.
