Caio is a small two-ounce boat, with capacity of four or five people, used in the Venice Lagoon.
With very small dimensions and walnut-shaped, hem-shaped, flat-bottomed keel, it was used for hunting and lagoon fishing in deeper depths. Unlike most other boats used in the Venetian lagoon, the two-oars rowing position is seated, with its back facing the bow.
In some models, it is also possible to use a sail auxiliary propulsion, with a mainsail and a bow and a mobile drift.
It is very likely that the name derives from the Turkish kayak although the latter is a much larger vessel. Notemodify wikitesto
