Christian Hee Hwass (1731-1803) was a Danish malacologist, known for his work in conchology. Despite being born in Denmark, Hwass did most of his work in France. He moved to Paris in 1780, and later to Auteuil (1794). In France he worked with famous scientists Jean-Baptiste de Lamarck (1744-1829) and Heinrich Christian Friedrich Schumacher (1757-1830).

Hwass became known by its composition of a large shell collection, which included many rare copies. Many European scientists have used this collection for their personal publications. Hwas's best-known work was the edition of the Encyclopédie Méthodique of 1792.
