Cuban dragonfish

The Cuban Dragonfish (Chimaera cubana) is a fish from the Dragonfish family. The fish occurs in the open waters of Colombia, Cuba and Puerto Rico at depths between 270 and 450 m. The species can reach a length of 75 cm. Long-line fishing at deep depths on Colombia's coast, catching this fish as by-catches, is potentially a threat to this species of dragonfish. However, in this area there are enough sea areas that are unsuitable for this fishery, where the Cuban dragon fish can hide. Therefore, there is insufficient data for a position on the Red List of the IUCN
