Frederik (Frits) Rijkens (Sappemeer, March 18, 1889 - Groningen, May 18, 1998) was the oldest living man of the Netherlands since July 12, 1994, after the death of Jan de Winter. He has carried this title for 3 years and 310 days.
During his working life he was a farmer in the north-Drentian village of Tynaarlo, where he engaged in cultivating and refining potato varieties.
After living in the elderly care home in Vries, he performed the opportunity to visit his birthplace regularly after a hundredth birthday: a distance of about 5 km.
Rijkens died at the age of 109 years and 61 days. His successor was Jan Pieter Bos.
