Jurengraulis juruensis


Jurengraulis juruensis is a strawberry fish from the Anchovy family (Engraulidae) and therefore belongs to the herring of herring (Clupeiformes). The fish can reach a length of 16 cm. The species was first scientifically described by George Albert Boulenger. Boulenger shared the species with the Cetengraulis genus. The species occurs in the Juruá, a tributary of the Amazon, and is named after that river. Living environment
